The Chief Justice permits Attorney General to file indictments against ten accused in connection with the bond scam

The Chief Justice has given his approval to the Attorney General to file indictments at the special high court against ten accused in connection with the Central Bank bond scam. State Counselor and a coordinating officer of the attorney general Nishara Jayaratne said that indictments have been prepared with 23 charges against former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran and ten others in connection with the bond scam. She said that Attorney General Dappula de Livera has requested the chief justice to appoint a permanent three judge bench of the high court to hear the case. She further said that the request has been made in writing to Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya by the Attorney General.
