The progress Sri Lanka has attained, appraised during the President's tour of Rome and Georgia

Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna says, the progress Sri Lanka has attained was specifically appraised during the President's tour of Rome and Georgia. Speaking at a media briefing held at the Government Information Centre this morning, the Deputy Minister said, at the 'Forest Summit' in Rome, Sri Lanka was identified as a country that has the lowest level of de-forestation.

He further stated, during the tour of Georgia, the President was praised as a Statesman who demonstrated exemplary leadership during the past 3 years. He added, for the convenience of Sri Lankan students pursuing higher studies in Georgia, the President instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish a Consular Office in Georgia.
