Special election broadcasting service under the name of ‘Election FM’ of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation commences today.

The SLBC launched the special election channel “Election FM” this morning under the patronage of chairman of the election commission Mahinda Deshapriya. He expressed confidence that this channel will act impartially providing equal opportunities to every political party and candidates to ensure free and fair election. Addressing the gathering chairman of the SLBC, Siddi Mohemad Farook said the national radio is always committed to provide best services to the general public. The new election channel is committed to provide opportunities to conduct the election propaganda campaign in free, fair, and equal manner. The new channel will be broadcasted via 107.5 fm. from today. All candidates who contest the LG polls are able to express their views by dialling the hot line 0112698577.
