2,500 re-awakening villages will be established by 2020.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says

that the proposed budget focuses upon social welfare entwined with development. It has a special focus upon guaranteeing employment for youth. He expressed these views participating at the Colombo district programme held at Temple Trees yesterday to provide title deeds for those who were provided with houses under “Samata Sewana” housing programme.

Also participating at this event Minister Sajith Premadasa said that a large sum has been allocated through the budget covering this subject area. He further stated that as a solution to the housing problem in the country the government intends to implement 2,500
re-awakening villages under the “Udaa Gammaana” project by the year 2020.
