Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne points out that extremist are active at this crucial juncture to deter the making of a new constitution.

Minister Rajitha Senarathne says that a golden opportunity has dawned upon the nation to formulate a new constitution and progressive minded citizens should not falter before extremist elements in the north and the south who are instrumental in attempting to deter the constitution-making process.

Minister John Amarathunga says that the government is systematically implementing the promises given to its citizens. He points out that special attention has been focused upon various sectors that were neglected. The government proposes to setup a development bank to support the financial needs of small and medium scale entrepreneurships with an allocation of 10 million rupees. The support extended for education and the emphasis placed in setting up additional vocational training institute is a positive step that would provide skilled labour to the market in view of the prevailing shortage in human capital in the industry sector.

Minister Gamini Jayawickrema Perera says that the proposed budget stands above all criticism. MP C.V Rathnayake commended Minister Mangala Samaraweera describing the latter as a far sighted personality who takes accurate decisions for the benefit of the country.
