The Vice Chairman of the JSS says there is a struggle in the country base on a political agenda.

The Vice Chairman of the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya says there is a struggle in the country base on a political agenda. JSS Media Secretary and Vice President Sunil de Silva made this comment while taking part in SLBC's Subharathi Programme this morning. The word 'Harthal' used in work uprising in 1953 has no place today in the workings of trade unions. The 'Harthal' was conducted for the benefit of worker's rights depending on the situation in the country.
At present, country has a struggle in accordance to the political agenda of the political parties. The student movement is politicized. Political activist Marcus Priyantha Perera said that a country should be opened to a road of a new economic development programme benefiting the ordinary masses.
