Deputy minister media says the GMOA has no moral right to go against SITEM

Deputy Minister Karunaratne Paranavithana says that the government medical officers' association has no moral right to engage in trade union actions against the SITEM private medical college. The GMOA and the Sri Lanka medical council did not oppose for this medical college at the time of the establishment of it  They have given their approval for setting up the Kothalawala medical faculty.

The deputy minister emphasises the need of an alternate solution for SITEM issue that brings justice to all parties.  The deputy minister claims that the GMOA without agreeing for such a solution   while making fresh proposals is engaged in an anti government political campaign but not in a trade union action.  Mr. Paranavithana also says that the majority of GMOA do not like its course of action.
