The department of cultural affairs says that the New Year auspicious times have already been prepared and the traditional almanac of the auspicious times will be offered to President Maithripala Sirisena on the 1st week of April. 5000 copies of the new year almanac of auspicious times have been printed.
Meanwhile, the Sathosa outlets, CWE and private traders have taken effective measures to provide essential commodities including food items and variety of cloths during the Sinhala and Tamil New year festive season. The chairman of Sathosa T.M.K.B Thennakoon told the SLBC that enough and sufficient essential commodities will be made available in Sathosa outlets islandwide for the benefit of consumers. Steps will be taken to open further 50 Sathosa outlets in near future. The commodities will be available to fulfill the requirements of the consumers up to the end of April.
